Sandy Fire Update
Posted on 05/18/2026
The wildfire currently burning in Simi Valley might trigger PTSD symptoms for some residents of Encino. But there is no immediate threat to our neighborhood other than smoke.
WHAT YOU CAN DO RIGHT NOW
-
Check on neighbors who are elderly, disabled, or live alone.
-
Limit outdoor activity if you are sensitive to smoke. Keep windows closed.
-
Donate to Ventura County community organizations supporting evacuees, if you can.
-
Do not drive into evacuated or active fire areas and keep those roads clear for emergency crews.
-
Follow official sources only. Do not share unverified information.
