Mission Statement

To ensure fair, transparent, accessible, and well-organized Neighborhood Council elections that encourage broad stakeholder participation and uphold the integrity of Encino’s democratic process.

What is an NC election?

A Neighborhood Council election is the official City of Los Angeles process used to select board members who represent Encino stakeholders in local government matters. Elections are overseen by the City Clerk and the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment, with rules for candidate eligibility, filing, certification, voting, and ballot handling

Election Day

The Encino Neighborhood Council election will take place on Saturday, May 15, 2027. Voting location and hours will be announced once confirmed.

How to become a candidate

To run for the Encino Neighborhood Council Board, candidates must submit a completed candidate filing application through the City Clerk’s Neighborhood Council candidate filing process. The application includes candidate information, the seat being sought, and documentation showing stakeholder eligibility. Candidates may file online through the City’s candidate filing portal or submit a paper application by mail, email, or drop-off, depending on the filing instructions in effect for the election cycle. Important information

Only certified candidates will appear on the ballot. Election materials, ballots, and notices will be updated as dates and instructions are confirmed by the City Clerk and EmpowerLA. The maximum number of Board/Alternate Members on any Committee is five. The maximum number of total Committee Members, including Stakeholders is nine, however there may also be up to three Alternate Committee Members (either Board/Alternate Members or Stakeholders).
